Changes

There have been some changes in our household! Little Miss Kaylen Suzanne Hillendale was born at exactly 2:33am today! She's such a little beauty and looks a lot like her daddy already. He just melts every time he looks at her. She's going to have him wrapped around her little finger, for sure.

Also, I was right, that second book didn't write itself, I wrote it! You can find Flashpaper Fiction in your local bookstore in the fiction section! That second book sure brings in a nicer chunk of royalty than the first one and it even earned me a promotion!

Braylen and I went back up to Granite Falls. The plan was to stay a night or two in a tent, but Kaylen had different plans for us and decided to come while we were at the state park just as I was making a new friend so we came home early. When Kaylen's older, I want to go back and take her with me. It's such a beautiful place!

Willow Creek will Do

Willow Creek isn't exactly where I was hoping to find myself living as an adult. I was hoping to be much further in the country, but at least it's not the city and I'm happy to be near enough to Granite Falls to be able to travel there for vacations and for some quiet time away for my writing. My writing career is going well. I've managed to earn two promotions and I'm well on my way to the third. In fact, I've published my first book and just received the first royalties just today! Look in bookstores near you for "One Blue Shoe: A Tale of Lost and Found" by the newest children's author, Kasey Hillendale.

When I'm not writing, I'm spending time outdoors, mostly fishing, but I do enjoy gardening, as well. My husband, Braylen isn't a fan of the big outdoors and detests fishing. He says it's gross and a waste of time. I think he's adorable and although I would enjoy him spending time outside with me more often, he truly does do much better indoors. I suppose it's just one of those things that keep us balanced. He enjoys being home taking care of our house and preparing our meals as much as I enjoy my career and spending time in nature.

All that said, I am still hoping to get him to see the beauty in nature. I'm planning a surprise trip for us to Granite Falls soon. Maybe he'll enjoy a brief stay in the lodge. Meanwhile, I should stop blogged and get back to writing. Book number two won't write itself!
